Q: When should I give a corporate gift?

A: To know when it is appropriate or inappropriate to give a gift may be confusing at times.
Remember the Dos and Don’t

* Don’t give a gift when it could be seen as a bribe, when contracts are under consideration, or when you are trying to get someone’s business for the first time.
* Do give gifts at Holiday Time
* Do give a gift to congratulate someone for receiving a promotion
* Do give a gift when a job is finished
* Do give a gift to express appreciation for a continuing relationship
* Do give a gift to celebrate a merger, sale of a company, restructuring, or new job
* Do give gift for offending someone or forgetting something important
* Do give a gift when you have caused someone to go to great trouble for you
* and do give a gift for NO REASON AT ALL!!!

Things to remember when receiving a gift

* Accept the gift gracefully
* Always send a hand written thank you note, even if you hated the gift.
