How often should my child’s teeth be brushed?

BRUSHING YOUR CHILD’S TEETH

After the first birthday start brushing the baby’s teeth with a small, extra soft toothbrush. The best method is to be behind your child and looking directly into the mouth.

Use a very small quantity of toothpaste, about the size of the child’s smallest fingernail. Explain to the child that the toothpaste must NOT be swallowed.

As your child grows, watch carefully as he/she brushes. Check and correct the child’s brushing technique. Brushing should take 2-3 minutes, so make sure your child does not rush.

Be a good role model to the child by brushing your teeth together.

Brushing in the morning and at night should become a regular good habit from childhood.
