Summer Tune-up Must Do’s

Before you go let us check under your hood:

  1. Have your motor oil and filter changed if it’s been a while, especially if your trip is a long one; over 1500 km.
  2. Have the radiator cooling hoses checked for cracks, leaks or weakness. Tighten all hose clamps and check for leaks.
  3. Top up all fluids: power steering, coolant, transmission. Inspect hoses, lines and function.
  4. Check function of windshield wipers and shape of blades. After all it might rain!
  5. Tires…How good are your treads? Still good alignment? Balancing…What about the tire pressure? Is it set correctly? Any vibration or pulling?
  6. Suspension…Is that ride bumpy? bouncy? Let us check your tie rods, ball joints and shocks.
  7. How is that battery? Let us test it. And your charging system…nothing worse than getting stuck in the middle of nowhere with a dead battery!
  8. Tune up…How old are those spark plugs? wires? Let us make that car purr like new.
  9. Brakes…What percentage of stopping power is left? Does your brake pedal feel ok? Is it soft, spongy?
  10. Lights…We will check all your car’s lights so you can see at night.
